Praxis
Praxis is a network of Christian practitioners across Aotearoa and the Pacific Islands who are dedicated to educating youth workers and innovative community builders. They offer NZQA accredited courses in Youth and Community Work, thanks to a relationship with the Tertiary Education Commission.
Along with many other organisations, churches, and indigenous community groups, we're lucky to have a fantastic partnership with this training establishment.
We offer scholarships to study through Praxis to enthusiastic and engaged rangatahi, who, by accepting, become BGI interns. This setup enables them to gain hands-on, in-context experience, which is what Praxis champions.
So far, the McCay Scholarship and the Hawkins East Coast Farm Scholarship are helping Praxis students to gain Certificates in Youth Development or NZ Diplomas in Youth Work.
Our Praxis students contribute to the Global Village programme, help out at Challenge for Change camps, assist during Paper Bag Lunch sessions, and much more! It's a joy to welcome them into our whānau and tautoko their growth.
